Most of them show noticeably better results with DeepPRIME. There are several user videos online comparing DeepPRIME to Topaz Denoise AI. PhotoLab 5 should be available by the fourth week in October and perhaps a few days earlier. If your card is not supported processing may take two or three times longer than PRIME just using the CPU. If you have a graphics card that is supported by DeepPRIME it will complete processing in less time then PRIME. DeepPRIME processing is significantly more intense than PRIME. Hopefully you will agree after further testing. In fact most people have found the improvement to be pretty profound. The difference between DeepPRIME and PRIME is not subtle. I'm still waiting for this but not holding my breath. It does provide good "consistent" results when I need it for very high ISO's. I have not compared the two but I'm trialling PL4. Both will offer Super Duper Deep PrimeĭXO Prime was good and Deep Prime is as good if not better. I suspect PureRaw will have an upgrade as well. When PL5 comes out this November I now know to wait until the Black Friday sale. Either way to upgrade from P元 to PL4 will be about $70. I think if I upgrade one that carries to the other but I'm not sure. One has too many and the other not enough I'm a little tired of updating both Topaz Denoise AI and Sharpen AI every two days. It's probably just that the RAW file has an 'a' added so a very simple fix if so. I get "File not supported, corrupt, or already processed" error. I paid for DxO PureRAW after trialing and all has been good until I just tried to open A7RIVa files. The only stated difference is a higher resolution rear LCD. Sony updated two cameras, the A7RIII and the A7RIV are now A7RIIIa and A7RIVa. I'm not ticked off with DxO, but watch this space. Nikon Z fc, Nikkor Z 16-50mm, Nikkor Z 40mm f/2, Nikkor Z 28mm f/2.8 (SE), Nikkor Z DX 18-140mm, Voigtlander 35mm f/1.2, Voigtlander 23mm f/1.2, DXO PhotoLab 5 Elite, DXO FilmPack 6 Elite, DXO ViewPoint 3 However, I have no idea whether they will add R5 support retroactively to P元 My more recent understanding is that they may now be supporting the addition of new cameras in the most recent previous version going forward. Their policy at that time was to not add new cameras to previous versions of PhotoLab. However, they should have retroactively added that profile to P元. There was no nefarious intent on their part. I believe those two events coinciding was the reason it took a while to acquire a copy of the R5 and create a profile for it. They were preparing the final release candidate version for testing at the beginning of September in anticipation for release to the public in mid-October. The beta testing phase for PL4 was just ending. The reason they didn't support it before the release of PL4 is because of the timing of that camera's release. I'm not making excuses for DXO, they should have supported that camera for P元. You were not the only one frustrated by lack of support for the R5 in PhotoLab 3. I just don't like their business practices. It wasn't the money as much as the principle. I contacted DXO and they told me too bad. I finally decided to do so and a week later the BF sales came out. A few years I kept getting email after email to upgrade to a newer version. The timing was just too convenient IMO.ĭXO has a version upgrade every Nov. I read the excuses about the time it takes to perfect a product like DXO but I wasn't sold. So about 3 months of not being able to use the software. DXO waited until November and if I wanted to use it I would have had to pay for PL4. Others released support in a timely manor as well. Adobe and C1 Pro released updates within 3 weeks to support the camera.
